Electromagnetic flowmeters are primarily suitable for measuring the flow of conductive liquids, such as water, acids, alkalis, etc. In specific cases, they can also be used to measure the flow of highly conductive gases. Electromagnetic flowmeters cannot measure the flow of non-conductive substances, such as oil and fuel.
