The flow measurement of a cryogenic fluid
Published on:2015-3-6 8:52:02 Hits:

The so-called cryogenic fluid industrially, generally refers to a boiling point at atmospheric pressure - fluid 50 ℃ or less.

Representative cryogenic fluids have LNG (liquefied natural gas), LN 2 (nitrogen), LO 2 (oxygen), liquefied ethylene, liquid hydrogen, liquid chlorine and the cold gas, L PG (liquefied petroleum gas) are not included in a very low temperature fluid.

In his discussion of cryogenic fluid flow measurement methods, in particular to understand is the use of these fluids in industrial processes, it is compared with normal or high temperature What are the differences? What kind of problems likely to occur? So, first cited cryogenic fluid and process characteristics will be described.

(1) is easy to cause a state change

Substance having a very low temperature fluid in Table 1, the physical constants shown in Table 2. These fluids are typically stored in a saturated state in an insulated storage container. Boost pump, sent, the process starts processing, and repeated pressurization, decompression. In this process, the cryogenic fluid saturation moment becomes supercooled state, while changes to boiling, easy to change state. Therefore, piping design and flow meter design needs to take action.
